Marset was born in 1942 as a family foundry company and has consolidated itself today as one of the most important lighting companies at an international level. Marset illuminacion S.A. have been developing, producing and distributing lighting products to nearly 40 countries around the world since 1965. Marset is a member of SIDI and has recently won the Lumiere Paris proze for the Topolina lamp and the Delta prize ADI-FAD for the Atlas series.
The 70s
Francisco Marset founded a family foundry business that from 1965 an dedicated itself to the manufacture of lighting products. Marset Iluminacion S.A. was already showing an increased interest in industrial design and advanced modern systems such as the
"Touch" switch. The trends of the decade invaded Marset´s designs which pushed for living colours, large extension tubes and in the area of materials plastic and serigraphed glass.
The 80s
In the 80´s Marset experienced a profound renovation. The changes affected our brand image and reached the design of the products. The first systems of low consumption were introduced and it produced the definitive emergence of halogen lamps. Fluarescence reached the domestic field and the world of design strave for more daring forms, riskier and more extreme proposals.
The 90s
In the 90´s the radicality of the previous decade was abandoned and a view to more integral design was sought. The objective was to balance the formal and functional aspects, developing some products in which design wouldn´t only be something exclusively aesthetic or formal. They started to apply new technologies of production to the lamps and Marset also consolidated its international expansion during this time. Confirming a recognisable, original and innovative brand image.
The new Century by Marset.
The arrival of the new century proposed a look at past from the present. Today´s trends mark a historic boom that revises the models of the 50´s or 60´s, applying todays technologies and design to give it an extra value. Marset won the ADI-FAD Silver Delta Prize for the Atlas series. In an ever more demanding sector, Marset consolidates its position with integral design and a instantiy recongnisable brand image.
To make a good product olso requires knowing how to explain and promote it, quaranteeing contact between the product and the client. At Marset we believe that the communication forms a pert of the global design of the product and this is why we entrust it to the best professionals. The architect Stefano Colli makes our promotional stands, the Designer Xavi Pubill is entrusted with the grafic image of our catalogues and Estudia Mariscal have developed this website.
